Had an enjoyable and fruitful trip to Brunei. It was good to meet old friends and get to know new, younger ones too.

Started early this morning with a (rather vigorous) walk with His Majesty the Sultan at Tasek Lama Park. Then we planted two selunsur trees as a symbol of the close friendship between Brunei and Singapore. Tasek Lama is one of the oldest nature reserves right in the heart of Bandar Seri Begawan. Followed with a busy day, being briefed on Brunei’s energy sector, and visiting Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

Unfortunately there are no troops training in Temburong right now, so I didn’t visit our SAF camp there. Hopefully on my next visit.

Look forward to visiting Brunei again when it chairs the ASEAN Summits next year. – LHL
